Golden Moments!

Another proud parent moment:

It's the last year of Science Fair projects and we finished with a bang!  Gold award received (again) as well as the opportunity to represent the school at the divisionals!  And this time, the kid did it pretty much all on his own.  I did a little editing to his work, helped design, paste and of course, pay for all the required materials.  I mean, what are parents for if not expert gluers with an unlimited bank account, right?

The new job is quite fantastic with challenging files and complex work.  What isn't so fantastic is that I'm fucking exhausted from actually having to use my brain for 8 hours a day.  Ugh.

I keep running into old friends in Winnipeg Square and my social calendar has never been so full!  I haven't eaten out so much in years!  I ran into one girl and was reminded about one of the last times I was ever in a bar.  At night.  With a crowd of people.  Remember those days?  Anyway, it was the only time I've ever actually been "picked up" by a man.  There was a group of .... mentally challenged (pc term?) people, and one of the men really really liked me.  His worker came up to me and told me that I'd make (whatever his name was) so happy if I would dance with him.  Just one dance?  Please?  I look out to the dance floor -- empty!  Oh God. I thought for a moment and said "sure!" - let's get this party started!  The man took my hands, walked with me to the very empty dance floor and swayed with me to the music.  The look on his face was majestic.  It took such little effort on my part and he was the happiest man in the bar.  It was a very fine moment for both of us for very different reasons I imagine.

Spring is here!  Know how I know?  My car is usually green in colour but it's turned a very dirty grey and there's a maze of dog poop in the back yard.  Yuck.  That's the general description of Spring, isn't it?

I got up early this morning to go to the gym.  Yah, I've been slacking a little in that department but I've been making it twice a week lately, so at least that's something.  So I arrive at the gym, start walking towards the door and realize that I left my passcard in my other jacket.  Shit.  So I had a smoke, drove home and made coffee.  There's always tomorrow.
